Re-Root-Tex® turns pineapple leaves — a farm waste stream with nowhere to go — into a chemical-free textile fibre. No new land is planted, no new water is drawn, and no petroleum enters the process.
Every year, pineapple harvests leave behind mountains of leaves with nowhere to go. Our process turns that agricultural waste into a high-quality textile fibre, without growing a single new plant, and without the water and CO2 footprint that comes with dedicated fibre crops.
The extraction method is chemical-free and unique to Re-Root-Tex, developed over years of master’s research by our founder, Rony Khan.
Our first fabrications are jersey-weight, blended 50/50 with GOTS-certified organic cotton and finished with a natural enzyme wash. Woven, shirt-weight fabrics are next in development.
Every piece can be left undyed or coloured with natural and non-toxic dyes — meaning a Re-Root-Tex garment can, in principle, be fully compostable at end of life.
The fibre is spun, knitted, woven, dyed and sewn in our own GOTS-certified facilities in Bangladesh, and designed from a farmhouse in Bavaria, Germany.
