Re-Root-Tex® turns pineapple leaves, a farm waste stream once destined for landfill and incineration, into a chemical-free textile fibre. No additional land use, no wasted water, no petroleum. Read more about our positive impact

Re-Root-Tex’s unique fibre extraction technology was developed by founder Rony Khan in Germany, at the Hochschule Niederrhein. Our fibre is spun, knitted, woven, dyed and sewn in our own GOTS-certified facilities in Bangladesh. Read more about our materials

Pineapple leaf fibre being processed
The Innovation

Fibre from a plant that was grown for food.

Every year, pineapple harvests leave behind mountains of leaves with nowhere to go. Our process turns that agricultural waste into a high-quality textile fibre, without growing a single new plant, and without the water and CO2 footprint that comes with dedicated fibre crops.

The extraction method is chemical-free and unique to Re-Root-Tex, developed over years of master’s research by our founder, Rony Khan.
